We've arrived at our destination in FL! Off-grid living in a bunch of over-cast and cloudy weather wasn't terrible despite poor solar gain:
Hours off-grid: 96
Solar gain: 25.5kWh
Generator: 41.5kWh / 16 hours
Hours with the rig fully energized: 96
I expect that if we had sunny weather we could've escaped most genny use.
Cooking dinner in the electric skillet...on battery power this cloudy day. Itching for an auto generator starter too which will be a Florida project. Currently camped in Columbia SC on the way to Bushnell FL
Our first client's RV has been converted! The 2014 Roadtrek CS Adventurous Class-B has been converted to a SolaRVs system with 4.8kWh of lithium storage and 3kW inverter. Every receptacle in the RV is energized as if on shore power at all times. The new standard in boondocking has arrived!
Here are some photos before final mounting of the inverter and closing up of the cabinets. You can see the batteries, 4 100aH lithium iron phosphate units wired in parallel, the Xantrex 3kW true-sine inverter, the system control panel, and the 60-cell solar module on the roof.
